With Love

Hi Everyone

My card today is another clean and simple using the dotty background embossing folder from Crafters Companion.  This time i have embossed the plain white background using my ultimate and boxer board to make grid lines and then matted onto gold mirror card.  I've then used the folder to emboss a square piece of card in the centre and added a butterfly and some ribbon. The sentiment is from Humphrey corner stamps and i have embossed it in gold to match the card.

Ok, my car is all packed up and I'm on my way to Frankies Crafty Touch in Darlington for a demo.  Can't wait to catch up with the lively crafters i met last time.  I'll update you later and may even have some photos if i remember.

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Humorous

Hello Everyone

Its Friday, its 9 o clock and its time for ..............  Glitter Geeks.  Not crackerjack if you are as old as me, but that was Friday at 5 o clock.  Ok enough of the chit chat and it'll be April fools day soon and we thought it would be a good idea to have a humorous theme for the blog challenge this week.

I've have chosen one of my old favourite stamps and i bought this about 6 or 7 years ago and made a couple of cards and took them to work and they both sold immediately.  I think that this image prompted my first special order too as it was just perfect for a colleagues friend as they said it reminded her of her.  I couldn't possibly guess why but she said it was perfect.

I've used nitwit papers, the bumbleberry too design and coloured the image with spectrum noir pens. The card base is from my new purchases from the NEC last week and I've used a little pink coredinations so mod for matting.  The sentiment is just typed on the pc in word and a few punched flowers and pearls to finish.

Get looking through your crafty stash for a humeorus theme and add your card to mr linky.

Hope you like mine.

Black and Beige

Hi Everyone

I have another embossing folder card today using the same dot background folder as yesterday but with a very different result.  Yesterday was quite feminine and muted but today is in your face and bold.  I've used coredinations card from the neutrals, some black ribbon and one of my favourite flower dies of the minute.   Again the sentiment is printed from word and onto the back of the coredinations card.

Watch out for the shows tomorrow, i will be sky plus-sing them as i am at the Aston hotel for a colouring day, bliss.  that's if there is any petrol that is as i'm nearly out.

Hope you like it.

Best Wishes

Hi Everyone

My card for today is using a darice dot background embossing folder that is quite plain and simple so i thought my card would be too.  I have used plain white card to emboss and then added a small amount of backing paper from the paintbox poppets cd that i have used the colouriser on.  Some plain white card has been edged with a X cut flower doily punch that i bought while at the NEC (ages ago) and then I just added some ribbon, tying a triple bow on my ultimate pro and then made a quick sentiment printed from the pc.  Watch out on C&C for some more shows from crafters companion coming soon, ive just checked the C&C schedule and Friday looks like a good day..  Ooooo and i think i have just seen Sheenas new stamps on face book, they are on from the 3rd April i think

Hope you like it.

Thank you card

Hi Everyone

A very quick post today as i am busy with other stuff.  Well for this card i have used old and new.  The card base is from last week at the nec and the gingham paper is from November's NEC from Anna Marie designs.  Margaret bought some this time but luckily i remembered i already had some.  The stamp is from years ago and its the very first time i have used this one.  I have this bear just plain but never used this one with thanks on.

This is for the craft rooms march challenge.

Hope you like it.

Just for You - Swalk

Hello Everyone

Wow i slept until 11.30 am this morning and that is just not like me at all so i must've needed a rest, although it has been a really busy week..  I had a great time at Birmingham with all the fab team from Crafters Companion.  Margaret and I helped out on the stand on Thursday and Margaret was the Queen of embossing folders, while i helped with customers.  It was really great meeting lots of CC fans and then Margaret and i shopped all day Friday.  We arrived not long after 9am and didn't leave until 4.  The night before i had said to Margaret i really thought we wouldn't be long and that it maybe be about 1 or 2 at the latest but we got so engrossed in dies, and ribbons, and sparkly embellishments and card etc etc.  I'm sure you know what its like and she never curbed my spending, nor i here,  in fact we were like partners in crime until it got to about 3 then i think we both felt a little guilty with how much we had spent.  never mind there are worse things to worry about.  Margaret and i have got a few things to share and i also shopped for Leann, she gave me a budget and i stuck to it.  (i wouldn't have dared not to, she's a bit scary when she wants to be, ha ha).

So yesterday i couldn't craft with my new stash as i had a demo at Lambton park garden centre at Chester le street.  I know i always say this but it really was a great day and the time just flew by.  The shoppers were all lovely as were the staff, Eileen and lath who supplied me with my builders tea.  Lovely lovely day but its sad as its closing at the end of June.  Next Saturday I'm at Frankie's and cannot wait for that too.

Ok onto my card and today i have used a swalk image that i have tried to achieve a quite toned down and vintagy look (if thats a word).  I've used my new Kraft card from Anna Maries designs stand.  I've use the a little kiss  image from swalk and used backing paper from the paintbox poppets cd using the colouriser.  I've also distressed the paper using vintage photo distress pad and added this to the image too before taking the die off.  I've coloured with my spectrum noirs using TN3, TN2, TN1, FS8, TS2, FS1, EB3, EB2, EB1, CT2, LG2.   The lace and velvet ribbon is also from Anna Maries Designs but i cannot find this on her website. Both Margaret, leann and I have one in each of the 5 colours so i'm sure you will be seeing it pop up on our cards regularly.I have cut the photo corners using my e-craft with my laina lamb office essential sd card.     I've had flowers on flowers off, pearls nearly on but decided to leave it with a whimsy sentiment as i think that's enough.

The next thing i have to look forward to, as well as frankies,  is the colouring day at the Aston hotel on Friday, so i am really looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Disney

Helloooooo

Good Morning and i will still be at the Birmingham NEC today as myself and Margaret decided to stay and extra night.  So hopefully this post should be scheduled for 9am.  Keeping my fingers crossed that it works. Birmingham

Ok  today's Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge is Disney and its not often at all that i work with Disney characters, even though i love them.  I even though i was not going to take part in this weeks challenge as i didn't have any Disney items.  However it suddenly occurred to me on Sunday night as i was sitting blog hopping that when i moved all of my craft stuff out of the garage into my new little craft room i found a little pack of Disney stamps and papers that i bought from Create and craft ages ago.  If i was to hazard a guess i would say probably 2005.

I had winnie the pooh, eeyore, tigger and piglet, so piglet won as i am loving my pinks at the minute.  Any way i thought he/she looked a bit dreamy so I've used my sentiment stamp i found when moving my crafty stuff as well.  coloured with spectrum noirs and it took me 2 minutes or so.

You have until 6pm next Thursday to enter.

Hope you like it and good luck with your entry.

Popcorn Fathers Day Card

Hi Everyone

This should be a scheduled post so hoping it works as i should be somewhere near or in the Birmingham NEC.

This card is made from the using decoupage and backing papers from the Popcorn birthday CD.  Its in German again as he travelled all the way with Sara for the launch of cd crafting in Germany.  Sara did amazing and it sold out on the first showing so I'm sure we will be seeing some more cards from CD's in Germany coming up.  This one says for fathers day and i did have to use Google translator for this one.  I;ve used cordinations again and my die cut flowers and leaves.

Hope you like it.

PopCorn CD Decoupage

Hi Everyone

Well i am just going to pack my bag ready for my trip with Margaret and Leann.  I am so excited to be going to eh NEC and i cannot do it.  I just cannot leave my credit card behind.  So goodness knows what i will come back with.  I will let you know.

I am all of of Beatrix Potter samples but isn't Sara doing a fab job and the pick of the day is a super price.  £ for 2 how good is that and i jsut saw the prize draw that you get enter into.  An all expenses paid weekend at Hill top farm in the lake distract for you and a friend and a crafting day with Sara in the library.  How amazing.

Today i have a another popcorn the Bear card i made for Sara's CD crafting show in Germany.  I have taken inspiration for this card form the crafters companion gallery   and it is one of Leann Chivers cards and when i saw it i thought i would just change it a bit and i think she obviously put more effort into hers than mine as hers is amazing.    I have used backing papers from the popcorn birthday cd and coredinations card.  The front is decorated with photo corners from laina lamb office essential sd card, using my e-craft.  I've just added pearls into  each cut out heart.  The sentiment of course is in German from a popcorn stamp and i think its pretty much explanatory yet i asked Kevin and he said he didn't know?  you can just use your English version or any sentiment you wish, i'm sure you have loads in your crafty stash. I have cut a window in the front of the card using my craft knife.
So when you open the front window up you see an image of popcorn sitting on his little blankie with a gift especially for you.
Then as the decoupage has a reverse i was able to add the back of popcorn to the inside of the card on the back of the acetate.  I then used a matching insert from the cd.
Not too difficult and i love the finished result.

Hope you like it.

Beatrix Potter Sneak Peek - No 4

 Hi Everyone

Hope you had a fab weekend and a lovely mothers day.  I received two fab cards from my children below and they are bought cards but i want to share them with you as they both really cheered me up and i will tell you  why.

Firstly onto today's sneak peek and I've used one of the prepared card bases with a lovely Beatrix  Potter scene printed on, just ready for you to decorate how you wish.  This time i have taken an image from the Decoupage sheets and its Jeremy Fisher.    I have spray and shined him but its not showing up well on the photo.

Then I've added a sentiment from the cd and some leaves die cut in co-ordinations card.  I really do struggle with mens cards but think this would be perfect.

Don't forget if you haven't already joined in the blog hop, please take a peek and also don't forget to watch the Pick of the day on Ideal world at 9pm on Tuesday with Sara.

Ok now my mothers day cards and i think i will keep these two as they are so personal to me.  Although both Mark and Emma never consulted each other on what type of card they were going to buy me.  mark normally buys me cards with kittens on but this one caught his eye for a specific reason and so did Emma's.  Ok marks Card first.

The reason i love this one is because this is the image of little Gracie, i know its only a sketch but this could really be based on her as it is soooo much like her and mark said that was the reason he bought it.  How sweet is this!  Even Grace picked it up and said is that me?

Now this one is a little more comical, which if you know my Emma, she is.  However the reason i love this is because it looks like both myself and Emma when we were about 3.  I will have to find some real photos of us so i can compare and when i mentioned this to Emma yesterday she said, she knew and that's why she bought it too.  I asked Emma if they had gone shopping together and planned it but they didn't, what a coincidence.  Anyway i just felt the need to share this with you as it made my day, we were in  stitches.

hope you like my Beatrix Potter card.

Sunday Sneak Peek - Timmy Tip toes

Hi Everyone

Another sneak peek from me today and this time i have used a decoupage frame card from Timmy Tiptoes from the BP range, where new items are launching as the pick of the day on ideal world tues 9pm.

I've used backing papers from the CD too and the decoupage is so easy to cut out as the outlines are quite simple to follow.  There are lots of sentiments on the cd but i have started to love using the verse writer also to achieve a personal feel to my cards.  I can change the font, the size and colour so i can match it just perfectly, then cut to the shape i like once it is printed.

Also i had a fab day yesterday at Houghton Hall garden Centre where i was demoing.  The staff were lovely and the customers as you would expect all of us crafters to be, friendly and up for a laugh.  I've added my little display photo below and i was surprised how purply pink it was as i really had not done this on purpose.

Hope you have a fab day today and not sure what i am doing yet for lunch as i have not bought anything to cook, Kevin is watching the grand prix, grace is going home early for a party.  Child no 1 is here but i think will be going with grace and child no 2 has not arrived as yet.  So we'll see but obviously i am not getting the shop til i drop day that i wanted.  Ah never mind................  I did get a big hug from Mark though, ................

Oooo and the lovely Margaret Brown has sorted my NEC tickets and our night at the hotel so we are going down on Wednesday and travelling back Thursday.  i cant wait.

Hope you like it.

Beatrix Potter Sneak Peek - No 3

Hello

Sorry a bit late with this one today, busy busy busy.  I have blogged once but that was a scheduled post.  I  love Appley Dapply, how cute is she and this card is made from a card base that is already prepared with a lovely detailed BP image on it.    I have this image in a stamp and its just gorgeous to colour too. You can use the card base just as it comes however i wanted to decorate it a bit and put my own personal touches on.

So what i did was cut a circle out of the main card front which contained the main part of the image.  Then i cut a  scalloped frame using my nesties and also one for the inside.  I then added a piece of acetate so its like a window and decorated the inside of the card.  I added the second frame to the inside to hide the edges of the acetate and it all looks neat and tidy.

The card is finished off with some Beatrix Potter gingham gingham ribbon and some gems to match.  I love this card, i now its mine and that sounds really big headed but its just sooo pretty.  Good products to work with though so its all down to Crafters Companion.  You can just see above the white frame on the inside to cover the edges up.

Don't forget if you haven't already join in the blog hop and watch the Pick of the day on Ideal world at 9pm on Tuesday.

Oooo and did you see Sara on HSE last night with the launch of the popcorn the bear CD for the first time in Germany?  Guess what it sold out..........  how fab is that.   Well not just the launch of the popcorn cd the launch of any CD crafting in Germany, i think.  I saw some of my cards that i made and will add a few more soon.

Hope you like it too.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Mothers Day Card

Hi Everyone

Don't the days just fly by when you're having fun, or not as the case may be.  I think it just happens this way when you are getting a bit older like.  The hours, days and weeks just disappear.

Anyway enough of that its time for another Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge and its for Mothers day this time.  The prize this week is from Jelly park.  So this week i have used a favourite SWALK stamp, Shop til you drop   and I've also combined a digi stamp from Jelly park which i just love.  Its a dress shop front and its the first time i have used it but know i will be using it again.  Oooo and i have just noticed there is a cake shop front so i will  need to pop back over and buy that one as they are only £1.25.

I have used my Spectrum Noirs to colour the shop and the swalk image in and do you recognise those backing papers?  The are from the new Paintbox Poppets CD from Crafters Companion  and there are some really stunning useful papers on there.  It is currently still available on Create and Craft as a Pick of the Week but this will finish this morning so be quick if you want it.  I just love this CD and if you do miss out it will be available direct from crafters companion soon..  The shop til you drop sentiment is from the swalk image and the worlds best mum is from paintbox poppets stamps set and i think i have mixed both the girls and boys sets.  I've then added a flower using the backing papers and leaves cut in brown matching card.  Then to finish i have added some polka dot ribbon and matching pearls.

My mother, or mam as we say in Durham would have loved this card i know and what could be better than taking your mam on a shopping trip for mothers say?  Hint Hint to my kids.....................  But it will need to include lunch and some spending money as well.................

Hope you like it.

Popcorn Jigsaw

Hello Everyone

Well everyone is sharing sneak peeks of Beatrix potter and i am too, just see my previous posts and blog hop.  Leann has arrived at Peterborough for two more paintbox poppets shows live on C&C today at 4pm and 7 and Sara is on shows in Germany.  Sara had a show earlier today re the ultimate and boards and has a show at 3pm she is paint fusioning (i think that means 2pm our time but not sure if i am definitely right).  Then she has a popcorn show at 9pm.  She blogged about this yesterday and you can find out at the Crafters Companion news blog.

I have shown a few of the popcorn samples i made and today i am sharing another of my jigsaws i have made.  I have coloured him with speccies and used backing papers from the CD and 1 of my jigsaw blanks from the handy Hippo.

Hope you like it.

Beatrix Potter Sneak Peek 2

Hi Everyone

I am soo looking forward to the launch of the new Beatrix Potter Range from Crafters  Companion.  There is sooooo much new stuff and its all fab to work with.  Yesterday the Blog Hop  was launched in readiness for the shows and 1 lucky winner will receive a fab prize.  Pop over to take a look and remember to start from the beginning and retrieve all the letters.

Today's card is from a cd that has been released previously but there will be a special offer in the shows so watch out for this if you haven't already got htis one.  This is from the tales of Appley Dapply's Nursery Rhymes and i have made an A5 pop out card using my ulitimate pro.
I've printed the backing design straight onto centura pearl card which makes it easier for the finished card to take shape as there is no matting in layering.  I love the paper that is in the background it reminds me of wallpaper at a stately home.  Ive used a decoupage image from the cd and finished with two lacy borders cut with spellbinder borders and crafters companion white organza ribbon.  The gems are from the new BP range too.

Hope you like it.

Crafters Companion Blog Hop

Hi Everyone

Welcome to the Crafter’s Companion Blog Hop to celebrate the release of the new Beatrix Potter CDs and stamps.

Here's my Sneak Peek and i have seen some of the other DT's cards and they are just gorgeous.  They are such a talented bunch and of course they have fab kts to work with.  The CD, stamps, decoupage, cards, paper pads, rubons, new ribbons and embellishments are all so inspiring.  I couldn't wait to get started once the kit had dropped through the letter box.  Well i had to open the door as it was so big.

Today's card is one of the rocker designs from the brand new Timmy Tiptoes CD.  Now i love to spend time on my cards as i find colouring and designing really relaxing, (when i have time).  However sometimes i just need to make a card really quickly or make lots of cards for orders i have and this is when CD crafting comes into its own.  For this card everything is ready for you as its a card companion.  Just print it from the cd, cut out and glue together.  it comes in three sizes so you choose which one you want.  Also how fab is it to have a card companion in the shape of a rocker card,  there are also easel card companions tooo..    i'm soooo  excited.
To finish off i have added a blue gingham ribbon bow and a couple of Beatrix Potter elegant gems, which match.  You just need to see them they are fab.

If you have landed here from Gemma's Blog then you are hopping in the right direction. If not then you need to pop over to the Crafter’s Companion News blog to begin.

The DT have had a great time creating with the new range from Crafter’s Companion and to celebrate the launch of these stunning new collections on Tuesday 20th March as Pick of the Day on Ideal World, we have decided to give you a chance to see some Sneak Peeks and also have the chance of winning a fabulous Prize:

All three new CDs and all three new stamps (worth £74.94)!

All you need to do to be in with a chance of winning this great prize is visit each blog in order and then go back to the Crafter’s Companion News Views and Inspiration Blog to leave your link.  Along the way you will notice that each Blog will give you a letter - make a note of these as they will make a phrase which we will ask you for if your number is drawn by Random.Org on the morning of Tuesday 20th March.

My letter is: L

From here, you need to hop to Marianne's Blog blog.

PLEASE DO NOT TELL US WHAT THE WORD IS ON THE CRAFTER’S COMPANION NEWS VIEWS AND INSPIRATION BLOG, WE WILL E-MAIL YOU FOR THE ANSWER IF YOUR ENTRY NUMBER IS DRAWN.

Hope you like all of the DT cards.

Strawberry Kisses - Pink Flower Picture

Hello Everyone

Well i really enjoyed making the popcorn picture for Sarah that i thought i would have another go at a Strawberry kisses one but in a different colour way.  I'm pleased to say that after a few months of my favourite frames going missing from tescos, they have returned.  So i bought quite a few of them in white and in pale wood.  However they still don't have the dark wood which was really my favourite but i will keep looking.

This time i have used pink polka dot paper from the Strawberry Kisses CD Rom and used white card to mat it onto.  I've used what i think is my favourite image from the range, although my favourite really depends on how I'm feeling on the day, this one is called flower power. I've  paper pieced the image together and i am aiming to put a tutorial up shortly to explain how it is done.  I know you all know how to make your own decoupage but i think a few piccies may help  (i hope).  I've used my speccies to colour and i have even made a list of the colours used and added them below.  Once again i didn't have the right size oval to add my picture to so i have used my trusty e-craft.

Colours used, PP3, PP1, IG2, IG1, IG7, TN3, TN2, TN1, LV1, LG5, LG2.

I really love how this one has turned out.  Anyway I've got some DT cards to be getting on with so watch out for some more exciting crafty stuff from Crafters Companion, very soon.

Hope you like it.

Paintbox Poppets CD Rom and Stamps

Good morning everyone and today i am sharing two more paintbox poppets cards using the 2 exclusive stamps.  However first of all just a quick update on yesterday.  Leann and I went to the ross paper craft show at Nissan, Sunderland and i set myself a budget before going as I'm a bit of a loose cannon at craft shows.  Its never worked before but i set a budget of £30 and spent £27.85.  I’m so impressed with my bit self……. Although i did have my Leann with me who is a calming influence when it comes to my spending and she normally says’ do you really need that’.  However towards the end as i finally succumbed to some lovely papers she was saying’  ooo have you seen these, have you seen them’ while pointing to some journalling tags.  I told her off for tempting me and then resisted.  Ha ha its a good job were know each other well.

Ok, my cards.  These two are the last two i made for the TV shows with Sara and the POW on Create and Craft.  What a phenomenal success the shows were, i think it was a record POW sell out for Sara in uber quick time.  However Sara's team at CC have pulled out all the stops over the weekend and have managed to start on more production for orders with extended delivery of the 19th March.   So yes you will have to wait a bit longer but i can assure you they are well worth the wait.

These two cards are made using the two exclusive stamps that are only available from C&C.    I've coloured her with my spectrum noirs and also used papers from the CD Rom, matted onto Tim Holtz Coredinations.  This was actually using one of the stamping companions from the cd so i printed straight onto Neenah  card to use with my alcohol pens.

For the inside of the card i have used the verse writer on the cd and used the sentiment that comes with the stamp itself.
My second card is the little boy with the cricket bat and ball.  However my cricket ball looks more like an apple!

I think i must have been having a brown day………  don’t know why…………..
Hope you like them.

Popcorn

Hello Everyone

A quick post again as I'm on my way out to go to the Nissan Craft Show with Ross papercraft and i am going to set myself a budget.  However, more importantly for the first time ever i am going to stick to it, I'm determined.  A plus point is i will not be on my own, left to just go wild because Leann Chivers is coming with me and she is very good at keeping me under control.

A couple of popcorn cards today for Sara's shows in Germany.  I don't know how she does it.  She's still at create and craft and I'm sure she will be travelling back then straight of to Germany.  She has so much energy and drive i need some lessons.  Both her and Leann need some well deserved time off i think.

The first one is a get well soon card, in lovely sprig colours to fit in with the daffodils, coloured with speccies.

And the second one could be used for a fathers day card.

How chilled out does he look!

Hope you like them and i may be sharing some new buys later on today and let you know if i stuck to my budget......
