Hexagonal Box and Humphrey pop up card

Hi Everyone

Ok no colouring at all for a few days, just so busy with work  So I'm adding a box I made a couple of weeks ago for my ultimate demo day and am also adding a card grace made last Sunday as she really liked mine.

The box i made with coredenations card stock from crafters companion, in fact everything i have used to make this box is CC apart from the glitter on the flowers.  I embossed the flowers on one of the ultimates embossing boards and 3d'd them as the lovely Claire Hamer showed me.  I loved the effect and knew i would use it on a project as soon as she showed it to me.  Its very simple, just emboss a flower shape, sand it to get the distressed effect on the coredenations and then cut from one edge of the petal into the centre, overlap one petal over another and glue.

I've used collal gel to glue everything as its also good as a flat glue and also embossed the edge again using the ultimate, cut round to achieve a decorative edge and again sanded it.

And the card below is one of Grace's, she loves the Humphrey decoupage and she did everything on here.  She built the decoupage image and chose this one because on the Humphrey POW, Leann said hello on the show with Nigel and then Nigel got Grace mixed up with a cat.  Grace was not amused at this but loved it when everyone was shouting hello to her.

As you can see everything is not perfect, a fe wobbly lines and the matting and layering is not perfect Just as  mine isn't.  I obviously explained to grace where to score the lines while reading from the booklet and helped her a little with the folding but after that it was her.  She chose the colours too from the cd.  The whole card is 100% CC, centura pearl, corednations, Humphrey decoupage and backing paper from the cd and collal glue again.

Thanks for looking,

Louise and Gracie xx

Monochrome Humphrey

Hi everyone

I know its the snowman that is taking up everyone's attention at the minute but thought i would post another Humphrey Christmas card from the latest Christmas stamp and paper cd.  I have used my ultimate pro to make an A5 gatefold card and then again decided to use all greys in the spectrum noir pens.
As you can see I've added a few embellishments and i think i have gone a bit overboard.  The black ribbon is also crafters companion and i cannot remember where the other embellishments are from, i think its a mixture of wild orchid crafts, dies to die for and meiflower.
I've added a bit of glitter to highlight the image in places but didn't realise it had a blue tinge to it, as i bought it as white so i was a bit disappointed as i didn't really notice til it was dried.  Below i have added an outside view and have left one ribbon untied so you can see the closing embellishment.

I have also embossed the Humphrey sentiment in in silver and used my heat gun.  I love heat embossing and am still amazed how it turns out when its done.

I am entering this card into Jingle all the way to Christmas challenge on the Ribbon girl blog.

Hope you like it.

Brown and Green Fairy

Hi Everyone

Another 3D paper pieced image and this time it is a manga fairy.  I've used my favourite spectrum noir pens to colour her and have also used the spray and sparkle on her wings but it doesn't stand out much on the photo.
I started colouring the image yesterday afternoon and have just finished it about 10 minutes ago and i can tell you it was loads harder than the swalk images i have done as there were a lot more pieces to cut out.  I've put a close up below but don't look too close as its not perfect and so what if the spots on the toadstool are not perfect.   And i can see a black splodge on her wing, its so easy to make mistake i think there must be about 8 layers on this one at least.

The background paper is from my K&Co paper pad and i can't remember where i got the ribbon, or charm from but the flowers are from Wild orchid crafts.

Hope you like it and i am going to enter this into the ribbon girl colour challenge green and brown.

Swalk - Hugs

Hi Everyone

This is my second attempt at 3D paper piecing and i am loving this technique.  I love the effect of this one even better than the first as i've managed to locate the blog i found it on and followed the fantastic tutorial.  The lady who does this is called Mariska and she has a tutorial on Whiff of joy if you were interested.  I think all of her cards and projects are amazing so please don't compare as this is only my second attempt.

Anyway back to my favourites SWALK and this one is A hug, is always the right size.  Isn't the image gorgeous?
I've chosen pink and brown and printed papers from the SWALK cd, i love gingham.  I've used diamond glaze after colouring her with spectrum noir pens but i think next time i will leave it matt.
And below a side view so you can see the build up of pieces a little better.
 hope you like it.

After the rain - Swalk

Hi Everyone

well its getting a bit late but wanted to share the card i made today.  I can't believe how fast the weekend has gone and now its Sunday evening with work again tomorrow so I'll have to wait until after tea to craft.

My first card is another of my favs from Crafters companion and the SWALK range and its the first time i have used this, although i have seen a lot of cards made out there so i know its one of yours as well.  A few years ago i saw  the technique of paper piecing at the NEC Birmingham Craft Show and i have always wanted to give it a go ever since.  its a good job everything doesn't take me 3 years.  I have made up my own decoupage and done a little paper piecing of dresses etc but never a whole image.  I also saw this a few months ago on another blog but i really can't remember who's it was (sorry, as i always mention where i have seen things and got inspiration from)  All of the pieces underneath are coloured in Grey and cut out individually and i am pleased at my first attempt, although i know it could be better.
I've chosen purple and green and coloured her in with my speccies underneath is all dark grey and the colours are only on the pieces that are showing.  I've then sprayed each piece with spray and shine from crafters companion, (if you look closely enough on the umbrella you will see a smudgy finger print as i am so impatient and touched it before it was dry.  I also think i maybe should have waited for the speccies to dray properly before i sprayed the image as i can see a few areas of running on the umbrella but i will learn from my mistakes for next time.
I've chosen the purple gingham paper from the Swalk CD Rom 2 and used some green centura pearl and plain white for matting and layering.  I have also finally decided to use my sewing machine after it has been sat in the garage for a few years.  Again after the same trip to the nec i had bought a number of magnolia stamps and i was going to sew some of the lovely cards i was going to make but never did.  Prior to that the sewing machine had sat in the shed for about seven years and i asked Kevin to get it out one day as it was so urgent for my cards.  (??)   I've finished the card with some green ribbon from Meiflower and tied it using my bow maker on my ultimate pro as when tying spotty ribbon by hand i always end up with a plain side showing and this never happens with the ultimate. Then added one single rose and an umbrella charm, the rose is from Dainty toys at Washington and the charm i think was from the ribbon girl.  I've also added a side view picture below as in the two above you can't see the paper piecing.  I will definitely make some more of this type of card.
Hope you like it as much as i do.

Humphrey stamps Decoupage

Hi everyone

I think it has been 6 days since my last blog, I've been so busy.  I really enjoyed the papercraft extravaganza at harrogate.  All the Crafters companion staff looked after me both days, just love all of them, Claire, Meg, Ross, Kamala, Sharon and Michelle.  I also met lots of lovely crafters, everyone was so lovely and i just had such a laugh.  There was loads of interest in the e-craft and I'm not surprised as its fab, amazing brilliant and just grrrrrreat.   I met up with Jacqui and Marcea for a quick chat and I'm sure they enjoyed themselves as well.  I tried to talk myself into leaving my credit card at home but i just couldn't, however i didn't spend too much.  Well not as much as i would if i had been shopping all day.

Ok, I've been  preparing for my next crafters companion demo on Saturday, for details click here.  I will mainly be focusing on the ultimate pro and boards and also Humphrey decoupage, stamps and cd.  Therefore i have been practising a few different shaped cards and my first is a pop up card which i have added paper and  Humphrey image form the Christmas decoupage kit.
And below i thought i would add my grand daughter Graces card she coloured in using the new Christmas Humphrey Stamp set and papers from the CD.  I've promised her she can set up her own blog but until then I'll just add them here.
She loves colouring in just as much as i do and she loves using the speccies.  She is really good with them and doesn't press on like kids do with felt tips, (she knows she has to look after them) and she always  puts them away in the right place.  In fact if any of you saw my messy dining table picture on face book, she would have told me off I'm sure.
She even managed the reds brilliantly and she chose the colours and also the embellishments. The merry Christmas stamp is form one of my other kits and she did this all by herself on the first go using rocka blocks.  I was going to help her but before i could she had done it.  I was amazed.  She also put the dies through the cuttle bug and glued the snowflakes on and she is only 7.  She will be coming to stay tomorrow until Sunday so I'll show her this and she will be so proud.

Bye for now and hope you like.

Swalk Tea Light Card

Hi Everyone

I made this card for a friends birthday last weekend when i couldn't get on with my Humphrey cards due to a dodgy printer cartridge and i haven't posted as since then been busy with Humphrey.  However as Humphrey has been packed off to CC i wanted to post this and can you tell what my favourite swalk stamp is currently?

Linda Hill posted a tea light project like this not long ago and the tutorial is on stampARTic blog.

This is the tea light card and I've used my fav swalk stamp from Crafters companion volume 2 range.  I've coloured her with spectrum noir pens  to match my current fav K and Company papers.  The roses are from Wild Orchid crafts .
Inside is a Happy Birthday tag with a sentiment stamp from lili of the valley and a box with room for 6 tealights.  I've just some fab dusky pink organza ribbon from meiflower and i think the colour matches perfectly with the papers.  I can't remember where i got the wooden butterfly from but again it matches in with the colour scheme.

I also made a matching gift box using my boxer board from Crafters companion and this tool just makes it so easy to make a box to the exact size to match your project.  I couldn't be without it.
The only thing i have done differently from the tutorial is to add clear acetate to the tealight holder as i found the ribbon wouldn't keep the tealights secure.

Hope you like the finished project  it as much as i do.  I took it to work yesterday as my colleagues had been asking to see some of my cards and got 5 orders for it so i was really pleased about that.

Pick of the Day Humphrey Stamps and CD

Hi Everyone

Well here's my third peek at the fab Humphrey stamps and cd that will be available from Create & Craft next Tues as a Pick of the Day.  And even though i have been lucky enough to work with these products beforehand i still watch all the shows, it's soooo citing............

Only one for you today though so that's five cards i have posted in total.  Not sure if i will get anymore done until maybe Monday as I'm going to the Harrogate Craft Show on Saturday and Sunday of this week with Crafters Companion.  So if you are going I may see some of you there and meet some of you lovely crafty people in person. rather than just names and a few small pictures on facebook, (what a world we live in today.)

Anyway back to Humphrey, another stamped image today and coloured with speccies, my favourite pens from Crafters Companion.  I'm back to an old favourite with turquoise, the backing papers are from the CD and i have sprayed him with a touch of iridescent spray and sparkle also from CC.  Hope you like him....

Humphrey Christmas stamps and CD second sneak peek.

Hi Everyone

Another day another post and today i have another two samples to show you.  Over the last month or so i have seen so many talented crafters out there posting tea light gift cards and they looked so impressive, so i thought i would give it a try.  so here is my humprhey interpretation.  I saw this version on Linda Hill's post just a few days ago, so thank you very much for the inspiration Linda.

I have used a stamped Humphrey image and coloured in with my speccies and have used the fab new Humphrey cd background papers to print directly onto centura pearl card and kept it to the traditional red colour to match the stamp.  There are some lovely papers on this cd and the imagas take no time at all to colour in.
This is the inside of the card with space for 6 tealights that i think makes a lovely christmas gift and a tag to match.

My second is a little cute card made with the star card template from the cd again.  The image is decoupage from the CD and i've added a bit of sparkle and just a ribbon bow.  So the glue, glitter and ribbon are the only items not from the cd.

Hope you like them.

Sneak Peek - Humphry Christmas Stamps & CD

Hi Everyone

I've been a bit quiet blogging lately due to being so busy with the new fab Humphrey stamps and CD.  Now you know why i was sooo mad about my printer cartridge not printing.  I couldn't get my hands on all those lovely papers from the cd.   Anyway here are two creations from me one is a stamped image coloured in speccies and one is a decoupage design from the CD.  Keep and eye out for the Pick of the Day next Tuesday on create and craft and also watch out for the other design team members, i know they have been busy posting today and their cards are all marvelous.  I've tied to choose different designs than they have posted so you can get to see more of the range, but they are all fab.

First one ...............
One of my favourite cards at the moment and i have added Humphrey and his dad playing snowball fights to the centre.  I've added a side view below.  The decoupage is so easy to cut out and the papers are fab especially being able to use the crafters companion colouriser and change it to your favourite.
Secondly i decided to stamp an image and have a try at using all greys.
Again a very easy card to put together and the images take no time at all to colour in.  I've sewn around the outside of the matting and layering and added a few brads and charm.  I've coloured a red one which i will be showing tomorrow and they are so easy to colour.

Hope you like them....  More to follow, keep watching.
