Sheena Douglas Workshop

Hi Everyone

Well it has taken me a week to recover from Sheena's workshop (in a good way) i even had two days off work last week and didn't lift a piece of card or speccie and it has taken me a week to share these piccies with you.  I would have had a Craft Punked blog challenge card on Friday but our blog has disappeared and not to be found again........ ;0(.  However i think we will be back in the New Year with something a bit different so watch out.

So these are the two items I made at Sheenas workshop and i am quite impressed with myself.  The first is a welcome sign just made on plain old chipboard and then painted with a crackle effect.  The welcome is cut using an electronic die cutting machine, it may have been the ecraft and then the poinsettia made using Sheenas stamp from her paint fusion range. Its stamped with black ink onto plain red and green card and then the edge distressed with walnut stain distress ink and i little bit of glitter in the centre.  The faux wood panels have been created by just using a ruler and distress ink.  And the flowers and leaves added to decorate.  I've then added a few brads to finish off.
The next item is just a simple  vase from ikea and then stamped with a flower from the new Fantasy circle stamp set.  Its edged with the cerne relief out of the fantasy paint range which are still sold out but will be back soon and Sheena had already prepared this part of the process. Then the flowers and leaves have been filled in with the fantasy paint to give this stunning effect.  it was so easy to do and when i heard we would be painting i really thought i wouldn't be keen on this but its paining in the loosest sense of the word as its applied with the non brush end of the paint brush and just filled in really.  I think it took all of 10 minutes to do this and the rest of the time is just drying time.  The colours i chose are very muted but some of the other attendees had stunning results with yellows  red,s oranges turquoises etc, just beautiful.
What a fab day we had and i really would recommend you attend any upcoming workshops as it was just so interesting.  Santa even paid us a visit.

Hope you like them.

Lovely Lilac

Morning Everyone

House work is done and 2 loads of washing finished and dried and i think i am going to have a bagel with cream cheese and a cup of tea after posting this card.  its only taken me 10 mins to put this card together as i painted the lilac at Graces craft shop last Saturday and have wanted to make it into a card ever since.  However i really wanted a few nights of chilling out so i have resisted any crafty urges every night last week and just come home, made the tea and then chilled before going to bed.  So i am raring to go for two full crafting days as i have lots to catch up on.  There is an exciting new launch coming up on the 25th may with Sara and i will start showing sneak peeks from Monday with a fab blog hop to take part in so look out for details.

ok so to my card, i love lilac and we used to have a lilac bush in our garden when i was little and i loved it.  We often had spray cut off and put in vases in the living room.  I have used the Lilac Paint Fusion stamp and paints white, dark blue, parma, green gold, brown  and antique white.  These are from sets 1, 3, Foliage and Neutrals.  Although i do think i will be trying some new colours to get different results.

I have painted onto one of Sheenas rectangle mount boards and used some cream and blue matt emulsion that was in the garage.  After painting i have edged the mount board in silver embossing powder and then used mirri card and white linen card.  I'm not a big fan of mirri card but on occasion it comes out to just edge some mattting and i think it matches perfectly.  I've then finished with a thinking of you sentiment, embossed in silver again and some lilac ribbon.  The colour is a perfect match to the paint but i am wishing i had left it off now for a really simple look.
Ok, off for my cup of tea and a bagel and then down to some serious crafting.  oooo and i am off to the ballet tonight at Newcastle.  I have never been before so i'm giving it a go as Claire Hamer had a spare ticket going.  So its off to Newcastle for tea and the ballet......  and probably a few glasses of wine.  What a fab day i have planned.  And its peaceful and quiet here is both Kevin and Mark are at work which is why i have got so much done so early.

Hope you like it.

Paint Fusioned Calendar

Hi Everyone

Well that's not exactly true is it?  I've not a paint brush out to make this calendar, I've used Sheena's fab new paint fusion CD Rom, details on Crafters Companion news and inspiration blog..  I've made a similar type of easel calendar  a couple of months ago using the strawberry kisses stamp set and thought i would give it another go as i had 9  2012 calendars still to use.  So now only 8 left, it ll be Christmas  again before i get them used.

I've chosen 4 different toppers from the CD, printed on water colour card and then matted the topper onto Sheena's mount board shapes.  I've then embossed the edges with gold embossing powder and they really do look as they've been painted and not printed from the CD.  Ive then made an easel card with a 6x6inch card base made from snow white centura pearl and matted and layered with core'dinations.  The top mat i have embossed in my cuttlebug using a darice embossing folder.  To finish i have added a cordinations card scrunched up rolled rose and then just a bit of ribbon.

Then whatever mood I'm in a can change the picture to a different flower.

Watch out for Sheena's show as she has the pick of the week on Friday on C&C with 3 fab new products so this is only 1 of them.

Hope you like it.

Sheena's Paint Fusion CD

Hi Everyone

I have been itching to post this project i have been working on and now its time to share. The fabulous Sheena Douglas, with Crafters Companion has decided to dip her toes into the CD crafting world by releasing a Paint Fusion interactive CD ROM.  The plus point of this for all crafters who don't like to get messy with paints or just don't have the confidence to try paint fusion can now share these wonderful images and style of crafting using a CD,   (although i would like to add at this point that i was one of those people and now i love paint fusion).   Or for those of you out there who are fusioneers you can compliment the stamps and paints you already have and create wonderful projects using backing papers, toppers, tags etc to add to your creativity.

My first project is a stationery box, although it doesn't have to be for stationery, i just wanted to use the items on the CD to show you what could be created.  I could see this style of box on my dressing table with my jewellery and bits and bobs that look messy.  I've printed a heart topper from the CD and glued it to a heart shaped mount board, from Sheena's range at  Crafters Companion.  I've embossed the edges in sliver and then covered the box i made from A3 Snow white Centura pearl card,  in a lovely matching background paper also from the CD.

I've then made some tags using the lavender toppers from the CD and again added them to mount board tags and for the smaller ones watercolour card stock. I've used the card inserts to make little notelets and also made a couple of different size envelopes using  white centura pearl paper and my enveloper.

I've tied the 3 items up with some organza ribbon to make sure they are all neat and tidy and i love the finished box.  Sheena will be on Create & Craft from Friday 10th  Feb.  I will have more details and sneak peaks to share soon, as will the other design team members.  Also watch out on Crafters Companion news blog as there will be some information posted soon about this and another fab product.  I forgot to take photos and measurement of the box but i plan to make another one so watch out i will add the details soon.

Hope you like it.

Paint Fusion - Daisy Card

Hi Everyone

Well i have been missing from blog land for over a week now and couldn't wait to get home from work and post again.  I've had a fab couple of weekends demoing crafters companion products and this weekend gone i was at the craft show at gateshead stadium.  I had a great time and met some really lovely crafters and got the chance to give loads of tips and ideas for using the ultimate pro.  Catherine Carney was one of them and i just love her cards.  I think both catherine and her freind had a fab time as well.  We need more shows in the North East i think...... I also took lots of my own samples and as Crafters Companion also had Sheena Douglas's Paint Fusion stamps on display i put my favourite card of the moment up.

I did this a fair few weeks ago now but just haven't had time to upload it.  This is my second attempt at paint fusion Daisy's and i just loved the finished result so much i had to put it on a card.   When i made it it was one of those cards i really liked that i put it on the window sill and every time i walked past i thought,  hmmm i did that. (Am i the only one who will admit to this, if so i'm really embarassed).   I have to say I'm not a fan of getting messy (ie messy hands with paint all over me) so i didn't particularly like doing it at first but now i just love it.

I wanted to keep it simple so chose a 6x6 inch square and kept it quite plain.  i painted the background onto one of the mount board squares, after i had followed one of the background techniques from Sheena's paint fusion DVD.   I matted the white linen paper onto some gold mirror board and embossed the word Daisy included in the stamp set and also  around the edge of the mount board.  To finish  off i added some of my fave Dusky Pink Ribbon from  Meiflower., then embsosed a simple Happy Birthday in gold embsosing to match.
Hope you like it..............

Paint Fusion, Gift tag

Hi everyone

Second post for today as i have been busy with some paint fusion samples and couldn't wait to share this.  This is from the simply sweet set of stamps and i just love the way it works fitting the stamp together as a  border but i have used it as the main image here.  I've edged the tag with gold embossing powder as well as embossing the image before painting and i think the effect is really nice.  I even think as the tag is so large it could be used as a book mark. All of the products used can be found at Crafters Companion and I've also been looking at Sheena's web pages to  find some more inspiration as i am really loving this technique can't wait to start on some boxes. She has a fabulous gallery of lovely samples.

My leaves are not perfect or the roses but it was so easy and i think this is what i like as it doesn't have to be perfect and everyone will be individual.

I'll have more to share soon.
