Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Super Heroes

Hi everyone

Today is the last Glitter Geeks  Blog Challenege i am so sad................  But wait...................  no we are not stopping all togther we are just changing names and a brand shiney new blog called Craft Punked.

So the last challenge theme is Superheroes and i have looked and looked for images i could use, but i really got stuck.  And i am on a crafty diet until tomorrow, my birthday' so i could not buy any new digis or anything.  So luckily i stumbled across a fab blog called the lady wolf where i found these fab FREE SVG files to use on my e-craft.

So i have used coredinations  to cut little Super Mario out and then cut the number and letters on my e-craft too.  I've also kept with the red white and blue colours to celebrate the jubilee as I'm really loving seeing these colours together, which is unusual for me as i like pastels.  I just love this card  and what's more i love Super Mario too, and can't wait to show Gracie as she is nintendo obsessed as well, .  We had one of the first Nintendo's when it came out and bought everyone that came out afterwards.  All of us have spent hours and hours trying to rescue the princess from Bowser and get to the end of the game first.  Ah happy memories............  and all the fighting and tears and shouting that went with it, ha ha ha.

Hope You like it.

And tomorrows post will be the new Crafters Companion Blog Challenge.

Humphrey Valentine card

Hi Everyone

Well Humphrey is in the pink today.  I have used my speccies to colour, my ultimate pro to make the pop out card and my eCraft for the daisy's in pots on the front.

A very quick post form me i know but i have finally given in to the temptationof buying a brayer and some Lavinia stamps.  Grace and I went to Rainton Meadow Arena Craft Show this morning and she loved the demos using the brayer.  So we bought some, of course i just had to get a few stamps as well.  So i may be able to show your our first samples later on.

And i am so excited cos no work tomorrow I'm on annual leave for a week.  Yahoooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Hope you like it.

Valentines Day

Hi Everyone

valentines day is fast approaching and Sara from Crafters Companion will be on create and craft this Friday with special offers on products that could be used for that special someone in your life.  I've added a card below, although i do know that lovely Meg from CC is also going to be running a competition through their blog so watch out as the lucky winner could be you, but only if you enter.

I think you know by now sometimes i like reasonably plain cards and as my last one had lots of Flowers I've gone back to what i know best and reasonably plain and simple.

Coloured with spectrum noirs.

Hope you like it

So Sweet

Hi Everyone

Its nearly a week since i have blogged, how can that have happened?  I've been so busy with work that i really haven't had the energy to come in and start making cards last week.  I think i needed to recharge my batteries.

Then today just as i had some inspiration my PC crashed and i had to start from factory settings so i have lost loads of my stuff.  Never mind i'll just build all my photos back up again and some are on facebook and some on my blog so its ok.

Today i have thought about making a card using my e-craft and i was watching Dawn Bibbys launch of her new range just recently and thought i would like to make an arch shaped card with a fence so i gave it a go today.

The card blank, the aperture, the frames, the grass, the fence and the flowers are all cut with the ecraft.  And i even cut some small clouds out and created a very subtle background of the sky with chalks.  I made the card by welding a circle and square together to get the card shape and then just copied another one and welded those two together. All of the flowers and leaves are on the fundamentals one SD card and the image is lotv and coloured with speccies.

I bought this stamp at the NEC in November and hadn't even got round to using it yet so thought it was about time.

The files SVG for the fence, grass and clouds are all from Birds cards but i am having problems with my pc at the minute and it won't go onto her blog so i will have to try again tomorrow.
Hope you like it.

E-Craft Card no 3

Morning Everyone
Another quick post as i need to get to work,  the electricity went off last night for some reason so we all slept in today by 3/4 hour.  Good job i work flexi time.
This is my last post before the shows on Create and Craft on Sunday so watch if you can as I'm sure they will be fab.  I've chosen to combine the ecraft with one of my fave winter cheer stamps.  I've cut a few poinsettia  shapes in red and green from the fundamental 2 cartridge and love the effect.  I like my poinsettias for Christmas cards so know i will use these again and again.  Need to do one in white and green...............

Coloured using only the core packs of speccies and i really like the finished card, maybe just a sentiment somewhere to complete it. The scalloped edge circle is also cut on the ecraft and the poinsettias also have a drawn line on which is done with the ecraft as well.  There are lost of images that have a draw and a cut line, so when making tags its perfect as you can write whatever you like and no need to rely on stamps.  Its also excellent for personalising with individuals names.

Hope you like it.

E-Craft 2nd Christmas card

Hi Everyone

Just a quickie post from me as i am still making cards for the weekend.  Here's my second one using the ecraft and i love this snowflake frame.  It was a freebie i found again.  Quite a traditional Christmas card from me today and can you tell there is a bit of a theme, blue and snowflakes  . I'll have to do something about that.  Only 1 photo and no waffling, hope you like it..
sorry about the light, i hate these dark nights.

And remember watch out for the shows at the weekend.

E-Craft Card - 1st Christmas

Hi Everyone
Today i have been playing with my new Christmas pressie from my husband (and yes i was allowed to open it early).  He normally is not very good at choosing me a gift so i gave him the heads up and told him what i would like.  I love my cuttlebug and would never be without it but as i wanted to make larger cards i was having problems with getting the right size dies.  Especially as i wanted to make card blanks.  So i considered ordering the grand caliber but when i added up the cost of the larger dies i realised if i bought the caliber and a few sets of grand dies it would be at the same price as the cost of an e-craft.  As i have used the e-craft on my Crafters Companion demos i know how good it is but always thought i could get by with my cuttlebug.  Well you know what thought did???   So it made perfect sense to me as i will not be restricted by size as it cuts all the shapes in  1/2 " increments up to 11 1/2".  I can also buy SVG  files at a single cost rather than buy full cartridges which i find is a real bonus, although cartridges are available if i wanted to buy them.  I can also use scraps of paper, no cutting mat .................  and i could go on and on but if you watch Create & Craft this Sunday, Leann Chivers will be demoing it for the first time on the channel.  It has loads of good points and i just love it.  I have been busy cutting all day and looking for free SVG files and i found loads.

Leann is also on TV on Saturday with Reddy Die Cut Decoupage so have a look at the programme schedule.  I've checked Sundays for the e-craft and its not up as yet but i will post asap when it is available.

Ok, my first card is a Humphrey card and its for a boys 1st Christmas.  I was asked to make 2 cards like this by a colleague at work as i showed Graces card she made a while ago in red.  So its more or less the same as the previous one but in blue.  However if you look at Graces card i couldn't mat and layer any circles as i used a tea plate to make the card blank and then i didn't have any other household objects to trace around for the matts so i made do with using the tea plate again and just cutting the circle down a bit by eye.  Not very good really and you can see the first one here .   Sorry about the light but it had already got dark by the time i took this.
Every thing you see is cut with the e-craft and i know this is quite a basic card but it was so easy to do and i have made 3 all in one go.  The card blank is an 8" circle cut onto centura pearl card the next matt is a 7 1/2" circle from coredinations card and the patterned paper is from the Humphrey Christmas CD cut at 7", printed onto centura pearl paper. I love the Humphrey christmas CD's, theres two in the pack and the papers are really not just for christmas.  The paper i have used on this card is quite a generic swirly paper and could be used for all occasions.

Humphrey has been coloured with speccies as always and glittered up a bit.  I had already cut the circle out before i stamped him and then matted him onto a scalloped circle from an e-craft cartridge, office essentials.  The two scrolls are from the fundamentals one cartridge that comes with the machine and the two snowflakes are free SVG files i found on t'internet.  I Love these, what a find!!!!  One of them is available here and the other one i cannot find anywhere.  I've loads on my history so it would take ages to look. However if anyone wanted a copy i could email you the file, just leave me a comment and email address.

Now normally i take a close up photo of my colouring but this time i have taken a photo of the snowflakes.  The larger one is 2" cut from Coredinations and the smaller white one is 1 1/2 " cut from centura paper.  I've sprayed them both with a light coating of spray and sparkle irridescent.  Hower the photo does not do them justice, although i think you can tell how delicate the points of the snowflakes are.

If you wanted to take a look before the shows there are some clips on you tube, click here.
And here  and here   its the lvoely leann.

Watch out for the shows and if you have not asked santa for your prezzie as yet, do what i did..... ha ha.

Hope you like it.
