Thinking of You Always

Hi Everyone

I'm scheduling this post to pop up tomorrow while I'm at work as there are some fab new darice embossing folders being released.  There are 33 in total and there are some fabulous designs, well they are all fabulous and i really don't know how you are going to choose which ones you NEED, as the design team have done a fab job.  They will all be posting too and there are some stunner's i can tell you.

My first one is using the key design and I'm still in a bit of a messy crafter mood so the distress inks came out again.  I was an absolute mess yesterday at the demo at Strikes Stokesley but had fun and everyone was interested in all the techniques i used with spectrum's, stamps and embossing folders.  I've used cut and dry foam to add the ink to the reverse of a piece of centura pearl card and just blended the colours together in circular motions.  So for this one i have used the key  design folder.  The distress inks used are pumice stone, Victorian velvet and aged mahogany before putting the piece of card through  my ebosser.  After the pattern was embossed i then highlighted the raised keys with frayed burlap to enhance them.  Then i have used a sentiment from one of Sheena's last stamp sets and embossed in copper embossing powder  I've added a little bit of stunning lace i found in my ribbon drawer and then i only had a silver key so i used the same embossing powder as i used for the sentiment to alter its colour.

Hope you like it.

Stamp it Australia

Hi Everyone

A quick post form me today as i am getting ready for my demo at Stokesley Garden Centre on Saturday, details on the Crafters Companion website. My craft room is in such a mess i need to start now as i can't find anything, what a tip.   However i wanted to share this card as i will be demoing the lovely stamp it stamps (along with many other items) that launched at CHA with Leann a couple of weeks ago.  I never had the chance to make the samples for the TV but i juts knew i would love them as they are different form the little characters i normally colour.  So as they were so different i thought i would have a complete change and do some messy stamping.  And here is the result.

I've used adirondack ink pads and used them like distress ink pads with cut and dry foam.  I then stamped the butterfly from the Dreamy Daisy stamp set with water and blotted dry.  Then i stamped with versamark and used white embossing powder for more butterflies.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set too.  I followed the technique that sheena used on the TV this week on her four day deal and used the butterfly stamp and embossed in white.  A whole range of stamping techniques can be found on her new CD Stamping Style with Sheena..

Hope you like it

Gracies Christmas Prezzie

Hi Everyone

Well I am totally neglecting my blog so far this year, this is only my second post and its the 13th Jan already. So I though i would share a gift I made to go up on Gracie s  bedroom wall at home.  And as you will probably gather this was only one of Gracie's  Christmas gifts as she got lots more.  Including Dad being happy for once (well for all of about 5mins that is!)

I've used 3 LOTV images and coloured with Spectrum Noirs.  There is a bit of glare from the picture frame glass and the circle you can see is the lens of the camera.  so apologies for that.

Hope you like it and i will be back soon with a spectrum noir blog post.  i just need to figure out what i am going to do first, my mind is blank..........

Crafters Companion Challenge Blog January - Anything but a card

Hi Everyone

And hello 2013, my first post of the year.........  Its time for the Crafters companion Monthly Challenge blog and this months theme is anything but a card.  So get your thinking caps on and get crafty with all of your CC goodies.

I've decided I've had enough of Christmas today and thought i would go for something really fresh and spring like so yellow and purple it is for Mothers Day.  This gorgeous Morehead Stamp is coloured with my Spectrum Noirs and i have made a trinket/gift box that i found while mooching on blogs.  so here is the link for the tutorial.  It was so easy to make with my Ultimate pro and boxer board.  I've coloured with spectrum noirs and then used papers from the Morehead CD printed onto white centura pearl card to construct the box as its a really good weight.  The inside box is only printed on the matt side of the centura pearl and the inside is left white.  The cover of the box is printed on both sides and i have placed the pearlescent side to the inside for the cover. I've added gingham ribbon and two flowers made from quilling dies, small sunflower and small camelia and then added brads to the centre of each.  The sentiment inside is just typed on my pc and then cut using one of the diesire tags.

I've added some roses from my Christmas choccie stash but you could add anything you like  jewellery  candles, a scarf  the list is endless.  What I really wanted to make was a baby version with rolled up little socks and vests etc but i didn't have any of these ling around.  Wouldn't this be fab for a new baby gift?  and don't forget it will be very easy to change the size to accommodate whatever you are giving as a prezzie.

Quite plain and simple but very effective i think.

Hope you like it and don't forget to take part to win a fabby prize.
