Its my party

Hi Everyone

Last card i have made form the colouring day last Friday and this is a lotv image.  She is just like grace when she gets in a temper, i wonder where she gets that from!  Her dad!

I have used two magnolia papers i bought ages ago and added a bit ribbon and a few pearls.  The princess charm was one of graces purchases from rainton meadows craft show in jan.  She insisted i needed some charms even though i must have over 200 although i never had any princess ones, so i gave in.  She must've known it would come in handy.
Coloured with speccies as normal.

Hope you like it.

Daisy

Hi Everyone

My second card from the images i coloured on Friday with the girlie's.  This really is my favourite of the day as i have never coloured her before (Thanks Marcea, i now need one of these stamps).

I have used coredinations and papers from the strawberry kisses range CD ROM.  I think i must have a thing for polka dots at the minute.  This time i have used the re size function on the cd which makes the paper smaller but keeps the aspect ratio.  So when i have asked to print in A6 size the polka dots also go smaller.  I've used a spellbinders heart circle die to mat daisy onto and then used the off cuts from the centres of the hearts to add as decoration.

Once again i had ribbon, flowers leaves etc etc to add and i put them on then took them off.  I don't know what it is but i love something quite plain.

Hope you like it.

Liebster award

hello everyone

just a quick note to let you know lovely Catherine has awarded me the leibster log. so i have scoured the blogs i follow to choose another 5 Lucky bloggers out there.

The idea of the Liebster Blog Award is to spread the love from one small blog (under 200 followers) to other small blogs. This helps to spread knowledge and readership.

To accept the award, you must:
1) Link back to the person who gave it and thank them for thinking of you.
2) Post the award to your blog.
3) Give the award to 5 bloggers (with less than 200 followers) that you appreciate and value.
4) Leave a comment on the blogs of the five people you have chosen to let them know.
"Liebster" in German means "dearest", so to carry on the
Liebster tradition, I am going to pass the award on to 5 people who's blogs have been an inspiration to me and my crafting.

I have decided to pass on this award to the following people (not in any particular order!)

Celia
Donka
B
Marie
Kate

fab blogs ladies, love seeing your cards.

Best Friends

Hello everyone

Well after yesterdays colouring session at the Aston hotel i wanted to make one of my piccies into a card and i really thought i was going to use daisy first.  However as i was looking for some paper i found these two bits that i had used recently and thought they matched my lottie image perfectly so i made this one.

The green backing paper is from my fairyopolis cd rom and the peach is from my strawberry kisses cd rom, matted onto coredinations card that has been distressed using my sand it gadget.

I have used a sentiment from the same stamped imaged and then used my heart epiphany tool and heart epoxy shape to make my own embellishment with a heart metal charm.  The little flower is from a strawberry kisses atmap coloured onto neenah that has been coloured with my spectrum noirs in FS2.

Marcea, who i was with yesterday has a Music saves my soul Saturday on her blog and this has prompted me to listen to one of my favourite golden oldies.  Blondie, Heart of Glass,  i love love love all Blondie and Debbie harry songs and saw her in las vegas a couple of years ago.  This takes me back to 1979 when i was in the fourth year at senior school, such a long time ago now and i still play this song in my car, up really loud and with my foot down.  grace even loves it as well.

Hope you like my card and have fun listening to Blondie, it will take you back in time to some good memories i hope just as it does for me.

Colouring Day Out

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post to share with you the piccies of the colouring day a few of us met up for today. Pam Leng, Marcea Watkins, Margaret Brown, Rachel Brown and myself all met up at the Aston hotel to practice our colouring with speccies.

I love all of these images and only managed to colour in four from 10am til 4pm this afternoon. We had a good chat and Sara joined us from Crafters Companion so of course we sat chatting to her as well.  Next time we will have to aim to colour more instead of getting carried away chatting.

Hope you like them.

Happy Mail

Hello Everyone

I think it must be nearly a week since i last posted and since then i have been to Birmingham and London.

Birmingham was fab and i had a lovely time (but busy) at the trade show.  I was demoing the e-craft and met lots of lovely people. I know i always say that when I'm out an about but i really mean it.  Lovely people who love the e-craft  and also the fab new e-bosser.  I was really impressed with that myself and cannot wait for it to arrive in the county. I also met Linda Simpson whos blog i follow and she is also lovely.

Ok as soon as i returned i wanted to make a card just for myself and wanted to chill and do what i liked today, colour with my speccies.  So i stamped a belles and whistles image that i have had for a while now and haven't used.

I've chosen colours to match the backing paper, which i really don't know where i got or whose it is, i think it may be k&co but i'm not sure.  I've added a few roses and a die cut butterfly and also made my own embellishment with the circle 14 Epiphany tool.  I bought these from Crafters Companion when they launched a couple of weeks ago and rather than use the backing paper to match i stamped another butterfly from the image and coloured it in turq to match.  I also purchased some of the silver tags and i love the finished effect as it macthes perfectly.

Hers a close up of the coloured image and the pendant.

Ok back to my London trip.  I went with a close friend who hadn't been to London in such a long time and it was a treat for her.  We travelled first class and started off our Holiday as we meant to go on when we got off the train.  A friend had told her about St pancras Station and she wanted to have a quick look so we wandered over, went in a couple of shops and then had a champagne cocktail in the champagne bar.  It was just what we needed.  We then checked into the hotel and got ready for our evening meal and show.  We had a gorgeous meal in the Ivy and Katy Price was at the table opposite to us with her on off boyfriend Leandro.  It was reported in the daily mail online that they had had a romantic dinner for two and it was just the two of them.  However there was four of them at the table and it was far from romantic so i guess its true you need to be careful what you believe in newspapers.  They were on their mobile phones all night and he really only talked to the guy next to him while she chatted to a girl next to her.  Even when their meal was brought they were constantly ont their mobiles.  Anyway i go for the fab food and not to star spot (although it isnice to see how others live and people watch) and it was amazing we were full to the brim when we left.  Here's a photo below that i asked the doorman to take of us when we came out.

its a bit blurry but never mind.  then we walked over to the prince Edward theatre and watched jersey boys, it was amazing the singing is fab.  Then after a fab night sleep and breakfast in the Waldorf we shopped in covent garden and harrods all day.  My credit card took a hammering as i bought earrings, a new pair of shoes and a new top.  Then back on the train where we took advantage of the free booze until i realised i had to drive home and therefore only had coke and  its all over til next time.

I've a few DT cards to make soon so will be busy and will be back to perusing your blogs as i bet i have missed out on loads of lovely cards.

Hope you like my card.

17th Birthday Card and BLOG CANDY

Hi Everyone

Well exciting news tonight, Sara at CC is being very generous and has given all of the DT members a signed copy of Leann Chivers Spectrum Noir Colouring DVD to give away as blog Candy.  My very first, i am sooooo excited.

There is a quick snippet below if you would like to have a peek.

I also have a card to share with you.  This is very similar to the calendar i made for the Strawberry kisses launch.  I showed it to a work colleague and they asked if i could personalise it for her daughter Lucy's 17th birthday as she loved the image and Lucy loves cats.  Coloured with spectrum noir pens, what else!

Hope you like my card and just leave your info on the link tool below and i will draw a name at random after 9pm tomorrow night.

Paint Fusioned Calendar

Hi Everyone

Well that's not exactly true is it?  I've not a paint brush out to make this calendar, I've used Sheena's fab new paint fusion CD Rom, details on Crafters Companion news and inspiration blog..  I've made a similar type of easel calendar  a couple of months ago using the strawberry kisses stamp set and thought i would give it another go as i had 9  2012 calendars still to use.  So now only 8 left, it ll be Christmas  again before i get them used.

I've chosen 4 different toppers from the CD, printed on water colour card and then matted the topper onto Sheena's mount board shapes.  I've then embossed the edges with gold embossing powder and they really do look as they've been painted and not printed from the CD.  Ive then made an easel card with a 6x6inch card base made from snow white centura pearl and matted and layered with core'dinations.  The top mat i have embossed in my cuttlebug using a darice embossing folder.  To finish i have added a cordinations card scrunched up rolled rose and then just a bit of ribbon.

Then whatever mood I'm in a can change the picture to a different flower.

Watch out for Sheena's show as she has the pick of the week on Friday on C&C with 3 fab new products so this is only 1 of them.

Hope you like it.

Epiphany Button Tool - Beatrix Potter

Hi Everyone

well all the other DT members have beaten me to it today as I've just arrived in from work.  I've been happy playing this last week with a fab new tool as i can make my own embellishments and there are a number of different designs to choose from.  I had the button tool which allows me to make matching buttons that will then co-ordinate perfectly with my card.  I was really silly and never took any close ups but I've just checked out Ali's blog and she has some fab close up shots.  so imagine hers but mine are small buttons made with the turquoise plaid background paper.

sorry it just looks clear on the photo, wish i had checked the photos before i delivered them to CC towers
last night.  I can assure you it is made with the tool using the background paper.  Image coloured with speccies.

I've zoomed in with my software and added a close up below but i don't think it really does the real button justice although you can now see a faint hint of the paper.  I've also used some felt flowers that are available to buy and these were brown and turq so i matched the colour of my card to this.

They go on sale on Create & Craft on Sunday where  Crafters Companion will launch the product.  I can't wait to buy some myself.  As well as the button there are hearts, flowers and circles and they all come with a clear bubble cap to encase the paper and design you have chosen.

Hope you like it .

Sheena's Paint Fusion CD

Hi Everyone

I have been itching to post this project i have been working on and now its time to share. The fabulous Sheena Douglas, with Crafters Companion has decided to dip her toes into the CD crafting world by releasing a Paint Fusion interactive CD ROM.  The plus point of this for all crafters who don't like to get messy with paints or just don't have the confidence to try paint fusion can now share these wonderful images and style of crafting using a CD,   (although i would like to add at this point that i was one of those people and now i love paint fusion).   Or for those of you out there who are fusioneers you can compliment the stamps and paints you already have and create wonderful projects using backing papers, toppers, tags etc to add to your creativity.

My first project is a stationery box, although it doesn't have to be for stationery, i just wanted to use the items on the CD to show you what could be created.  I could see this style of box on my dressing table with my jewellery and bits and bobs that look messy.  I've printed a heart topper from the CD and glued it to a heart shaped mount board, from Sheena's range at  Crafters Companion.  I've embossed the edges in sliver and then covered the box i made from A3 Snow white Centura pearl card,  in a lovely matching background paper also from the CD.

I've then made some tags using the lavender toppers from the CD and again added them to mount board tags and for the smaller ones watercolour card stock. I've used the card inserts to make little notelets and also made a couple of different size envelopes using  white centura pearl paper and my enveloper.

I've tied the 3 items up with some organza ribbon to make sure they are all neat and tidy and i love the finished box.  Sheena will be on Create & Craft from Friday 10th  Feb.  I will have more details and sneak peaks to share soon, as will the other design team members.  Also watch out on Crafters Companion news blog as there will be some information posted soon about this and another fab product.  I forgot to take photos and measurement of the box but i plan to make another one so watch out i will add the details soon.

Hope you like it.

Mothers Day

Hi everyone

How far away is mothers day?  i bet its not long so i thought this image would be perfect and i hadn't used it as yet so i am trying to have a go and use all my stamps at least once.  That'll probably take until 2030 ish, if I'm still here!

I've seen on other blogs cards with clouds and sky in the background so i really wanted to have a go instead of just leaving the background white or just a bit of distress ink.  So here's my first attempt.

i think i still need a bit more practise but it never went into the bin so that's ok.  Used my speccies and paper from the SWALK CD Rom.

Hope you like it.

Sky at night or is it morning

Hi Everyone

I didn't really know what to call this card and then i thought it looked like red sky at night, or is it red sky in the morning or does it look more like an autumnal image.  Not sure either way so here it is.

Been messing around with my new adirondack inks again and Incorporated using some stamps with white embossing powder and also stamped in brown memento as well.  I bought these stamps only two weeks ago from inkilicious as well as some of the ink duster blending brushes without really knowing how to use them.  Until i saw an inkylicious show on create and craft last week and they had the very same stamps and ink blenders so i was able to watch it and find out, how lucky was that.

I've also used centura pearl as my base card and co-ordinations to mat and layer with.  I made this on Sunday but its sat in my craft room thinking i was going to add a sentiment and some bits and bobs but tonight when i was looking through all of my embellishments etc i really couldn't find what to go with it so i have just left it plain.

Hope you like it.

Louise
