Tea Light Cards

Hi Everyone

Well I'm half way through my order of tealight cards, 6 done and 6 to go.  However i already delivered one and forgot to photograph it so theres only 5 here.  I love the different colour ways and 1 of them is the same rose stamp that i used on my 70th birthday card.  They are all coloured with my speccies and i have only put one photo on each so you can see the front of the card and the box.  Didn't want to bore everyone with the insides as its the same as previous.
just a quick post tonight as i want to get on with some colouring.
Hope you like them

Fairyopolis Samples

Hi Everyone

I've added all my fairyopolis samples i made for my demo yesterday.  There is a mixture using all of the items listed, Triple Disc CD, 12" Paper pad, Die Cut Decoupage, card Blanks and rub ons.  All of them can be found on t Crafters Companion Website Fairyopolis range.

I love the script paper from the cd and on the opposite side i have embossed plain white card in my cuttlebug and used a tip Sara Davis mentioned on C&C this week.  I added my distress ink to the folder first and then ran it through and it gives a really nice effect.  I've coloured the image with speccies and then just added a bit ribbon and flowers.  Kevin has taken this card for his mams birthday so he must have liked it.
This is a decoupage image and a square card blank, again with the script pattern.  i've used a rub on sentiment and i just love them.  they are so easy to work with and give a fab result.  I've also added spray and sparkle to her wings and lovely green paper from the paper pad.
Another decoupage image using a card blank, coredinations and a rub on sentiment.

This image is one of the rub on images and again they are fab and and easy to use for a quick and simple card.  Sometimes i just don't have the time to spend ages on a card so these are the perfect way to go.
Another beautiful card blank and an image and sentiment rub on.

this one above using decoupage i made a couple of weeks ago and i love the simplicity of it.  Now yesterday while i had a bit of a quiet moment from demoing the ultimate i thought i would make a card while waiting and I've added it below.  I never realised i already had one nearly exactly the same.
Not much difference really.... but it was a total coincidence.  The colour matting is slightly different but they are nearly the same.  As i never had my cuttle bug with me i used my springtime embossing board in the ultimate for the 2 circles and flower and leaves.

hope you like them.

Fairyopolis, Summer stamp set

Hi Everyone

Just got back from my demo in Livingstone, Hobbycraft and it was such a busy day.  the queues at the till were so long, don't know where everyone came from and the SEC was on in Glasgow as well.  Was demoing the ultimate pro and fairyopolis as well  as other fave CC products.  Everyone who already had the Ultimate only had great things to say about it and of course i could agree as i use mine everyday.
Anyway here is my second fairyopolis card coloured with speccies and using the pencils again.
Now i would never have put blue and purple/pinks together but because it was in the background paper i have chosen another blue paper to match.  I was talking to a lady today who said she had been card making for years.  She said the only thing she struggled with was matching colours together.  So i said what i did is just put them together and see how they go and if that doesn't work look at other peoples cards for their colour matches.
She then went on to buy the fairy stamps to take home and try some of the colours i had used.  Lovely lady.  She had her coat buttoned up wrong but i didn't have the heart to tell her (i think i should have maybe).

Ok now going to get another cup of tea and browse the blogs for all your fab cards.

Hope you like it.

Fairyopolis- Rosehip Fairy

Hi Everyone

Just a quick post as i need to be up really early for my demo in scotland tomorrow.  I'm going to the store opening of Hobbycraft, unit 5, almondvale retail park, livingston eh54 6rq. All day tomorrow and there are some fab offers and prizes to be had.

Well i finally got the Chance to test my new skills that i learned at a colouring class a couple of weeks ago using alcohol pens and polychromo pencils.  I attended a fab class with Lily of the Vally and the fab Jaqui Dennis and Bev Rochester.  I did this all for my self as a treat, even though i felt i could get could result.  However  i really wanted to learn how to do it properly and try to get amazing results that i have seen others getting.  and i met a fab group of like minded crafters and had a fab day.  Even though i was naughty and kept going ahead of everyone else, i'm far too impatient for my own good.  The secret is using the pencils to outline dark areas and blend this with sansodar using paper stumps. To find out more go to jacquis blog where she has a fab tutorial.  All fascinating stuff.  And i love the results.
I've stamped the image using my rockablocks and rosehip from the autumn fairyoplis stamp set. I've coloured it using my speccies, love them. I need to colour everyday.  I've then chosen two different background papers from the autumn cd and used a rub on sentiment.

A few flowers and leaves to finish and i really do love this image and card.

Hope you like it.

70th Birthday Card

Hi Everyone

After showing all of my cards at work i was asked to do a 70th birthday card like one of my lily of the valley cards.  However they wanted it with a rose on so i used one of my trusty stamps.  This stamp was from the first craft pack i bought way back in 2001 or 2002 from QVC.  Dawn Bibby was demoing it and i think it had quite basic stuff in like peel offs, an ink pad and my heat gun.  it was in a little fold out plastic container and i still have it today.  If i only knew then how addicted i would get i may not have continued (I'm sure i would though).

I've used my Spectrum Noir'sto colour the image and then my fave K&Co papers.  I've spray and sparkled the dark purple sheet and to make the 70 i drew around 2 chipboard shapes in matching purple card.

The photos are not very good as i took them in the dark with the light on and my camera doesn't seem to like taking photos at night.  then i made a box to match and of course used my boxer board and ultimate pro.

 Hope you like it..

Paint Fusion - Daisy Card

Hi Everyone

Well i have been missing from blog land for over a week now and couldn't wait to get home from work and post again.  I've had a fab couple of weekends demoing crafters companion products and this weekend gone i was at the craft show at gateshead stadium.  I had a great time and met some really lovely crafters and got the chance to give loads of tips and ideas for using the ultimate pro.  Catherine Carney was one of them and i just love her cards.  I think both catherine and her freind had a fab time as well.  We need more shows in the North East i think...... I also took lots of my own samples and as Crafters Companion also had Sheena Douglas's Paint Fusion stamps on display i put my favourite card of the moment up.

I did this a fair few weeks ago now but just haven't had time to upload it.  This is my second attempt at paint fusion Daisy's and i just loved the finished result so much i had to put it on a card.   When i made it it was one of those cards i really liked that i put it on the window sill and every time i walked past i thought,  hmmm i did that. (Am i the only one who will admit to this, if so i'm really embarassed).   I have to say I'm not a fan of getting messy (ie messy hands with paint all over me) so i didn't particularly like doing it at first but now i just love it.

I wanted to keep it simple so chose a 6x6 inch square and kept it quite plain.  i painted the background onto one of the mount board squares, after i had followed one of the background techniques from Sheena's paint fusion DVD.   I matted the white linen paper onto some gold mirror board and embossed the word Daisy included in the stamp set and also  around the edge of the mount board.  To finish  off i added some of my fave Dusky Pink Ribbon from  Meiflower., then embsosed a simple Happy Birthday in gold embsosing to match.
Hope you like it..............

Swalk Winter Cheer, Happy Holidays

Hi Everyone

Well this is my last sneak peak as I'm working on other samples now and i will really miss working with these stamps as i just love them.  I know i will soon be making more though for my own personal use as i have had to give all these away to Leann which was hard to do ( I wanted to keep all of them).  However have you checked out the Crafters Companion gallery to view all of the samples the design team have created.  I looked at them all yesterday and wow there are some super examples of what you can do with the stamps and cd.
Ive used a different image today and I've not used the same one twice yet as i wanted to try all of them.  I've chosen pink this time and love this paper with the gloves in the background, i though very appropriate for making snowballs.  I've embossed some coredinations paper in the same tone and love this simple but effective design.
Hope you have enjoyed looking at all of my samples and its only 1 more sleep now.

Swalk Winter Cheer, Shop til you drop

Hi Everyone

Well if you are reading this it means my first scheduled post will have worked, yippee.....  It was too early yesterday posting at 7 ish and it made me a bit late for work but never mind.

Ok this is my fifth sneak peek and i have used a different image again this time.  Guess what?  i love it.....
Pink and brown is a combination i love and this card was sooo easy.  Two backing papers from the cd, a bit of ribbon and a few flowers.  I used the colouriser on the top piece of paper to change the brown to a slightly darker shade.  also i think it looks like she has an expensive suede or sheepskin coat on, love it.

REMEMBER DON'T MISS THE SWALK WINTER CHEER PICK OF THE WEEK  LAUNCH ON 14TH OCTOBER ON CREATE & CRAFT.

Ooooo it's my sons birthday that day as well and he's not here he's in Florida with Gracie.  Can't wait until she gets back to tell me all of the things she has been up to. (never mind missing his birthday i need gracie back)

Hope you like it.

Swalk Winter Cheer Snowman

Hi Everyone

Sorry I'm so late and i can't remember if it is day 3 or day 4 now.  Ok it's day four sneak peak.  I have just finished my cards for the DT samples as i need to drop them off tomorrow so cutting it a bit fine i think.  Anyway are you excited yet........ Honestly these are gorgeous stamps and i can't say enough how much i love all of them.  Tonight i have chosen purple and green and couldn't resist a bit of bling with snowflakes and gems etc.

I've used a tag from he cd as well as the backing papers and just wanted a small sentiment so have taken this one from my Humphrey set.  Mix and match i say.....

Hope you like it as much as i like the other DT's samples.  They are fab.  Ok all day at work, 5 hours crafting and now need a cup of tea and some looking at everyones blogs and cards in I'm a crafters companion.  I may be up until midnight again but i love it.

Also, i did check my emails as i was crafting and have you seen Leann's post where she has created a monster, I'm hurt, I'm no monster, i just love my ultimate soooo much (although i am a bit dippy sometimes).  If you have read her post it is true though, i really couldn't see why i needed an ultimate pro and i am converted.

Hope you like the card and if you leave a comment i do read them all.

thanks

Paint Fusion, Gift tag

Hi everyone

Second post for today as i have been busy with some paint fusion samples and couldn't wait to share this.  This is from the simply sweet set of stamps and i just love the way it works fitting the stamp together as a  border but i have used it as the main image here.  I've edged the tag with gold embossing powder as well as embossing the image before painting and i think the effect is really nice.  I even think as the tag is so large it could be used as a book mark. All of the products used can be found at Crafters Companion and I've also been looking at Sheena's web pages to  find some more inspiration as i am really loving this technique can't wait to start on some boxes. She has a fabulous gallery of lovely samples.

My leaves are not perfect or the roses but it was so easy and i think this is what i like as it doesn't have to be perfect and everyone will be individual.

I'll have more to share soon.

Swalk Winter Cheer , let it snow

Hi Everyone

Well its time for sneak peek no 3 and aren't you just loving this wonderful wintry images.  I've just been looking at the other DT members posts and they are all fab.

No fancy folds for me today back to my comfort of 6x6 and again coloured with my speccies, what else?
Love the turquoise tones in the speccies so have chosen these today, no papers from the cd so you can see they work well with all of your crafty stash.  So i've used some embossed white paper and coredenation card.  A little ribbon and a few embellishments and it was done in no time at all. The swalk images are so quick and easy to colour just like Humphrey which make them very attractive when time is an issue.

Hope you like the range and images as much as i do.  Just been watching sara on tv and it won't be long til you can order these too from C&C on the POW.

Swalk, Cold Hands Warm Heart

Hi Everyone

Here's my second sneak peek of the fabulous new set of stamps from Crafters Companion.  I just love this image with the two cute penguins , sooooo cute and i have coloured the image with my spectrum noirs.  All of the embelishments are from the CD, including ribbon slider and buttons.  And this is why i was hunting down my glitter yesterday as i wanted to glitter her fur trim.  Just love it.

I'm sure the rest of the design team have has as much fun with these as me and don't forget the launch is friday 14th October on Create and Craft with Leann.  Also if you would like to have the chance of winning the full swalk winter cheer set please pop over to the crafters companion blog and join in with the blog hop.  You never know it may just be your lucky day.

Hope you like it.

Swalk Winter Wonderland

Hi Everyone
I have been itching to share these beautiful stamps and papers with you and the day has finally arrived.  As soon as i saw these i just knew i would love making cards with them and i love every single image in the range.  Another fabulous set of stamps and cd crafting goodlies from Crafters Companion.
I've used my spectrum noirs in yellow and green to colour the image and used a mixture of coredenations and papers from the cd for matting and layering.  The flower is also from the cd and is so effective when 3d'd.  I've used some sparkle on the hat and the snow in the background and just a little ribbon from my stash.
Hope you like them as much as i do and watch out for some more leading up to the Pick of the Week on Create and Craft from Friday next week.

Drawer Card, Fairyopolis

Hi Everyone

I've been busy with my Crafters Companion ultimate pro and the advanced construction technique dvd   I used to be a plain 6x6 inch card maker but since using the ultimate i cannot stop making things.  I love it.  For anyone out there please let me put your mind at rest that i never always felt this way and it was really just about me using it more and more and becoming more practised in using it.  it really didn't tkae me long though just a couple of days of trying different things.

Today i have made a drawer easel card from the DVD and also used an image from the Fairyopolis Decoupage packs.  The background paper is from the fairyopolis 12x12" paper pad  and they are all stunning and compliment the fairy images perfectly.   I just love fairies and have done since i was a child.  My older sister and i had the original books and used to copy the fairy drawings and colour them in on Sunday afternoons.

The card used to make the drawers and flowers is coredenation all in the family, grapes.  I have embossed the card using the ultimate pro embossing board springtime sweets and cupcake treats and if you have seen some of my other posts you will see it is a favourite of mine for the flowers you can create. The two matting and layering circles are from the same board and again were very easy to do and i have distressed the card with the sand it gadget.

The only extra things i have used are some purple ribbon and some brads for the drawer fronts and for the flower centres.  The tag is embossed form the same board as the flowers so no need for more expensive die cut templates.  The with love sentiment is also from the fairyopolis range, fairyoplis 6x12" rub ons .  i gave up trying rub ons a while ago as they never seemed to work for me but again the quality of these from CC is fab. It worked first time.  Oh and nearly forgot I've used iridescent spray and sparkle on the fairy wings but the photo doesn't do it justice.

Hope you like it.

Sweetie card

Hi Everyone

Been busy with making my orders of tea light cards and 6 down 6 to go. So i thought i would make an alternative to a tea light card and substitute the candles with sweets.

This card is on the Crafters Companion Ultimate Advanced Construction Techniques DVD and of course i used my Ultimate pro and boxer board.  Sara's instructions were so easy to follow and of course once you have the card done you can decorate it how you like.  I have chosen the Birthday Girl stamp from CC's Humphrey's Corner stamp range and used a sentiment from the Chocolate Box set from the same range.  I have coloured the image with spectrum noir pens and used centura pearl for the base card and backing paper.  The plaid paper is from the Humphrey's corner crafting collection cd..  The papers on here are just fab and go with lots of other images and not just the Humphrey range.
This is the inside left quite plain and room to add a personal message.  Sorry for the wonky pictures but after i had took them and realised i really didn't have time to redo them.

On the reverse of the card i have added a stamp from the Birthday Girl set and i think it just adds the perfect touch to any card or project.

Hope you like it.
