Flowers For You

Hi Everyone

Well i had all good intentions of making cards yesterday but not one stamp touched a piece of paper or a pen.  Housework took over and then a trip to the train station to purchase train tickets for July when Gracie, Gracies mam Emma and me go to see Madonna.  We are so excited, Gracie and i talked about which songs we thought maybe on the set for ages in the car while singing out loud to our favourite Madonna songs.  Then it was a trip to a close friends, Audrey to give her the owl i bought her back at the NEC in march,  Then macro for household essentials and then i bought a new printer.  I really couldn't decide which one to go for and have been humming and hahing for ages.  In the end i went for a Kodak with some reservations as i knew they had gone into liquidation but i was promised by the sales guy that this was only in the USA and it was only their camera section of the company.  Well we will see whether they were telling the truth or not as i really don't want to be stuck with a printer i cannot buy cartridges for......................  Anyway i have tested iy on a paintbox poppets image and the images are stunning so i am please with my purchase and it had £40 off.

Ok  today's card is one of my Strawberry Kisses cards i made for paercraft essential and this is a gorgeous image.  I have paper pieced the little image from the Flower power stamp set and coloured with spectrum noir pens and used backing papers from the SK CD ROM, along with some coredinations card stock. I did a demo of this at Frankies Crafty Touch at Darlington recently and i have been asked to put a tutorial up on my blog, so i will try and get round to this as soon as i can.   Quite a simple card but i love it and i have used a sentiment from one of the Humphrey stamps sets as i thought this matched perfectly.  The corner punch is from XCut but i have searched for link and cannot find one so i don't know if they are discontinued.

Ok now i am off to do some colouring as the dishwasher and ironing have been done so i have the rest of the day to craft.  I cannot share them though as its for a launch of new items very soon............  I cannot wait though as they are fab and so cute.

Hope you like it.

A Year With Humphrey Stepper Card

Hi Everyone

I've not made many cards lately but i'm going to fix that little problem this weekend so i thought i would share one of my recent A year with Humphrey Stepper cards.  I've tried making my own stepper cards before and they have been ok but i hate measuring and taking ages to put a card together, i really want quick results as i am always so busy to get on with the next project.  So when i saw there were 3 different types of stepper card templates on the A year with Humphrey CD Rom i was so pleased.  All the pieces are there ready for you to print, the base card and then the matting and layering already measured for you, and the decorations.  I was amazed at how quick i put it together and it was so easy.  I only had one cut to make with my craft knife and then i scored the lines that are marked for you using my boxer board.

All of the buttons and decorations are from the same print out on the CD and i just love these ribbons, they look really effective.  The only extra item i have used apart form the printout itself is some collal all purpose glue, THE BEST GLUE IN THE WORLD.................

Also, these stepper cards can be used to go with all of your other crafty images and stamps as you don't need to use the preprepared items that go with so i know i will be making some more stepper cards soon and with ease.........

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge

Hi There everyone

Friday morning again and another Glitter Geeks blog challeneg for you. Its an easy one this time, use stiches on your prject fake or real.  I have chosen one of the new humphrey STamps from Crafters Companion using the gorgeous Swinging by stamp.  I've coloured with my spectrum noir pens and used backing paper from the Humphreys corner cd rom, the papers are fab on here and go really well with lots of stamp types.  I've used my prima flowers to decorate and the  sentiment tag is from craftwork cards.   The middle flower i have added a little sparklet in pink that i bought from create and craft a couple of months ago, they are gorgeous.  I'm not sure if you can see on the picture very well but i did sew around the backing paper using my lovely new sewing machine.  I got it out this morning and it is back stashed away in my cupboard.  I think i need to lengthen the stitch though as it looks a bit too close togther.

Pop over to the blog and take part as you could win a prize from Tiddly Inks.

Hope you like it.

Together Forever

Hi Everyone

Well last night i got my days mixed up didn't I? I thought it was Wednesday and was going to watch the apprentice at 9pm but that's tonight.  So i still have not made a card yet as i have just finished sorting stuff out at home.  I'm going to try to make one before Lord Sugar comes on so this must be a quick blog post.

This is Together forever and its coloured with speccies.  I have sued backing papers from the SK CD rom from crafters companion (as are all the products bar the little pearls on this card)  I love that flower and leaves, it is cut out from a print out from the CD too.

Hope you like it.

Little Miss

Hi Everyone

Well i am back from my trip to Ideal World with Leann and the Humphrey shows did great.  I'm sooo tired and cannot wait for a good nights sleep in my own bed.  Did you watch Leann and Dean they are so funny together.

So i  have not been card making since last week and i am having withdrawal symptoms but i am shattered.  I'm going to have a cup of tea and watch Lord Sugar. However I just have time to share one of the Strawberry Kisses cards that made it to the last edition of paperpercarft  essentials.  This one is my favourite card, pink and green and i have used Little Miss.  I have coloured her with Spectrum Noirs to colour and used backing paper from the SK CD Rom with pink core'dinations.  The buttons i have made with my Epiphany Button tool and buttons.  The patterned borders and sentiments are also from the CD.

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Red & White

Helloooo its Friday again, I love Fridays.

Time once again for a Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge and this time it is Red and White as it will be St Georges Day on Monday 23rd April.  A change of style of card for me today as normally like colouring images in but i do love simple styles like this too.

I have used adirondack watermelon ink to stamp both the flower stamp and the sentiment and matted the image onto coredinations from the So Mod collection.   I bought this flower and the sentiment  from the NEC about 4 years ago I've never used the sentiment stamp before.  The ribbon is from Ally Pally and it has been sitting there waiting for me to use it for 4 or 5 years too.  You see this is why i really don't need to buy anything else.  I'm still keeping to my birthday promise, ie no craft items until the 1st June at least.

Pop along to the blog and take part if you can,  you have to be in it to win it and this week you could win vouchers from the Octopode factory.

Hope you like it.

Humphrey Sneak Peek 2

Hi Everyone

This is a very quick post as i need to go and put the kettle on and get settled for Nigel's launch at 9pm.  A cup of tea and i think i have some Easter egg left to munch on...........

Tonight's card is another Humphrey sneak peek and this is one of the lovely cute frame cards on the CD rom, A year with Humphrey.  This looks like lottie doing a forward roll and she looks so cute.    The decoupage, the frame and the sentiment are all printed from the CD and i have only added a few coredinations punched flowers and some pearls.  Grace was here when i made this and she kept asking how to do it and she thought it was really great.

The new CD being launched on Sunday am with Leann is a double CD and on one CD are lots of resources such as card companions, stepper cards, frame cards, embellishments, decoupage, toppers, sentiments and more ............    The second CD is a colouring cd with videos and step by step guides on colouring Humphrey images in two colour ways.  I have had a quick peek and its a must for anyone wanting to colour with spectrum noirs as there are  of hints and tips from Sara and Lean.

Hope you like it.

A-MAY-ZING Sneak Peek

Morning everyone

Here is my final sneak peek using the new cd from Nigel May All Kinds of Everything.  It launches tomorrow night on Create and Craft as part of the birthday event.  If you leave a comment below, or on any of my previous posts with peeks of Nigel's cards then you are in with a chance of winning a signed photograph of Nigel himself.  I will be drawing this at 9pm tonight so this will be my last post with this on it so don't miss out.

This last card is such a simple one to make and all i have really added is some gems to add sparkle to the cake.  The topper and the backing paper is from the A-MAY-ZING cd and i know i will use this purple daisy backing paper on other cards as it is just my style.  I've matted onto purple coordination's and just added a sentiment using the verse writer from the cd.

Hope you like it and watch out for the winner.  Again i will ring Gracie and ask her to choose a random number from all of the entries.  She loves doing this.

Lets Catch Up- Sneak Peek 2

Hi Everyone

As promised yesterday i said i would be sharing with you another Humphrey sneak peek and this time it's a stamped and coloured image from the new Humphrey range of stamps launching on the morning of 22nd April.  This one is Lets Catch Up and i love it, coloured with spectrum noirs.  I don't know what it is about stamping and colouring but it just takes me away to another place where i don't have to worry about anything at all.  I can easily spend a whole day colouring and stamping.  I'm loving greens and yellows at the minute as they are so fresh.  I have used the previous Humphrey CD for backing papers and matted onto so Mod coredinations card.  The sentiment is included with the lovely new stamp and then I've used my favourite Marianne flower and leaf and added a few pearls.  I've also used my x cut border punch to edge some of the coredinations.  Its a very simple card to make and i love the finished card.

Don't forget to watch out for the other DT's fabulous cards and makes, they are all sooooooo  creative creative and don't forget the shows on Create and craft on Sunday am.  What better way to spend a Sunday with Leann and Humphrey?  I can't think of a better way i would like to spend the day, apart from have Gracie with me to watch.

Leann has posted more details on her blog today so pop over and take a look as she has some more pictures to share with you and info about some small video clips.  There's also some more information on the crafters companion blog about Humphrey so check that out too.

Hope you like it.

Humphrey Sneak Peek

Hi Everyone

Today i have a sneak peek of a new Humphrey CD from Crafters Companion that is launching on Sunday 22nd April on Create and Craft.  There will be 12 new stamps in addition to this CD and i will have samples of one of those tomorrow.  They are all my favourite.  The CD is called 'A year with Humphrey' and therefore there will be items that you can use for every occasion and time of year.  It is full of crafty resources for you to use which include, toppers, decoupage, tags, embellishments, card companions, exploding boxes, stepper cards, decoupage, decoupage cards, easel cards, frame cards and image sheets.

The card below is using one of the toppers with decoupage included and i have only added a little banner stamped with the word PARTY.  I've used some coredinations to matt and then the backing paper is from the  Humphrey all sorts cd rom.  Such a quick and easy card to make, so if you love your decoupage and quick cards this is for you.

Its create and craft birthday week so i think there will be some special offers available too.

Hope you like it.

Papercraft Essentials Front Cover

Hi everyone

Today i can finally share a card i made a while ago for the cut out and keep section of papercraft essentials.  I know some of you out there have already received this issue of the mag but i haven't actually seen it yet so I'm still really excited about seeing the actual copy.  There are seven in total (i think, well i made seven but not sure if they are all there) and one of them made front cover, I'm amazed.

The image is Cutie, coloured with my spectrum noirs and mated using coredinations and background paper from the strawberry kisses cd rom, where you will find lots of fab paper choices and colours.  I've used roses   from my stash, a lacey circle die and i've used a marianne leaf die.  Well i don't know why i'm listing all the items here as all the instructions and items used are in the mag.

And finally a picture of the front cover.........

i will be sharing more with you soon and hope you like them.

Cassie - Contemplation

Hi Everyone

This is the last of the 3 different stamps i won from Jaqui and this one nearly went in the bin to start again as i made a few mistakes.  However after i distressed her a bit i quite like the messy result.  She is Cassie Contemplation and i really love colouirng these images with my Spectrum Noir Pens.  I have also used my polychromo pencils on this too.  The paper is from the Nissan Craft show i went to with Leann in Feb i think it was and this was one of my buys to remain in my budget.  The doily is from the NEC, the first time i have used one, the flowers from wild orchid crafts and the lace from my stash.  The hat pin is from Bunny Zoe and the stamp is another mini stamp from whimsey sentiments .  I can see loads of mistakes but i still like the finished card.    The die i used to cut the leaves is another marianne die and I'm loving these at the minute.

Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Nautical

Hi Everyone

This week the Glitter Geeks  Blog Challenge is 'Titanic' as this week it is the anniversary of its untimely demise.  I'm sure you will have noticed this with all of the programmes on TV about it and then the 3d release at the cinema.  So for my card this week i have chosen a LOTV stamp that i could ages ago, i think it was October but i might be mistaken and this was at a LOTV colouring class i went to.   I looked all over in my crafty stash for buttons, stars any embellishment really and nothing looked right so i left it plain.

I generally always take my photos on the window still n the living room as this is where i get the most light and tonight when i brought it downstairs my husband asked 'Is that my card?'.  It was his birthday today and i totally forgot, how bad is that.  I did remember last week, and yesterday and last night but it totally slipped my mind to either buy or make a card or wish him happy birthday this morning.  Never mind he's 49 so he'll get over it.

I look forward to seeing all of your entries this week and i hope you are the lucky winner.

Hope you like it.

Sneek Peek - A-MAY-ZING

Hi Everyone

I have another sneak peek for you tonight and i just love love love this one.  I love pink and green together so i have printed backing papers from Nigel's A-MAY-ZING CD and a shaped topper.  I have then just simply added a piece of ribbon and made a bow and the sentiment is from the cd too.

I normally struggle to fill up an A5 card but this shape of topper and image is just right i think.  Very plain and simple but i think very effective.
Not long now till the shows.

Check out the other DT cards and blogs for the chance to win a signed photo of Nigel and also Crafters Companion  Blog.  Leave a comment as detailed here and you just MAY win.

Hope you like it.

WOW HOW A-MAY-ZING

Hi Everyone

I returned home form work tonight and I've been so busy with other things that i never read my emails as quickly as i should have and boy should i have tonight as this is one good prize for you.  If you have been following my blog you will have seen me post a few sneak peeks from Nigel may's new CD to be launched on Thursday 19th April @ 9pm and 11pm – Nigel and Sara will be launching C&C Birthday festivities. It’s on C&C but Freeview viewers can watch online at www.createandcraft.tv then also on Friday 20th @ 8am and 1pm – Nigel & Sara  on C&C.

Here's my next card and keep reading as i have important information added below.  This one is a favourite with the DT i think as i have seen quite a few of these tea pots about.  I have chosen to use a card template from the cd and there are some fab shapes to choose from.  I have then made some paper beads, again the pieces are all ready for you to cut out on the cd and they match perfectly to the projects.  Its ages since i made some of these and they were very easy and very effective.

Ok here's to the good stuff.  So leave me a comment on Nigel's new range and i will choose one at random on the morning of Thursday 19th , which is launch day but comments need to be on my posts by 9pm on the Wednesday evening, 18th April  and if you are the lucky winner  you will  win... a personalised signed photo of Nigel – so it really is a money-can’t-buy prize!   Watch out for the other DT members as they will be running the same draw and also check out Crafters Companion  blog and Nigels too as they will be doing the same.

Good Luck everyone and don't forget the more posts you comment on, you will have more chances to win.  Only 1 comment per post though.  However i will count all of the comments from when i started to post Nigels cards., so check back on my previous posts.

Hope you like it.

Chillax

Hi Everyone

My second card with the little crafty win i had and this one is called Chillax.  Not much of that going on today, although i have had a fairly relaxed morning but we are bracing ourselves for the arrival of Gracie and she has asked if we are going to have an egg hunt like last year.  We didn't do it outside so what i did was make poems up that were clues for Gracie to find around the house in various places, with the last one being an egg as the prize.   So i better get my thinking cap on quick as Mark has denied all involvement and says he cannot come up with rhymes.

I've coloured her in again with spectrum noirs from Crafters Companion and I've used a pink theme today.  The papers are papermania  capsule collection as too is ribbon bow.  The sentiment is from LOTV and the heart is one of Margaret's crafty finds from the NEC, that she kindly shared with me and Leann.

colours used,TN2, FS2,FS1,FS8, GB8, EB2, EB1, PP3,PP5, BG1, BG2, BG5, TN1 BLENDER

hope you like it.

Cassie's Rendevous

Hi Everyone

Well the stamps i won from Jacqui's candy arrive last Tuesday and i don't know how i managed to wait until yesterday to use one.  (my first ever crafty win, says thanks to your mum jacqui please) They are gorgeous and i love them, i have another two to use but will have to wait as i have DT stuff to do.This first one is Cassies Rendevous and i have coloured her with Spectrum Noir pens.  Its the first time i have used these jade green colours i think as they are quite dark but i love them with the brown. The backing paper is from K&Co and i have used the Kraft card from Anna Marie designs to mat onto.  The journey and the for you stamp are from bunny zoe that i bought ages ago and have not found the right card to put onto until yesterday.  The wood flower is from the nec and the lace is from a craft shop where i did a demo.

 Hope you like it.

Glitter Geeks Blog Challenge - Easter

Hi Everyone

Well the Easter hold are here and i forgot to schedule my Glitter Geeks Challenge post for 9am, whoops.  Never mind here it is and its Easter this week.  Mine is a Sarah Kay image with lovley little chicks on that reminded me of Easter and i have coloured her with spectrum noir pens.  The lovely Claire Hamer gave me the alphabet stamps so i made a little banner out of scraps of paper.  The gingham card is Anna mare designs and i've used coredinations from the so mod collection.  I have never had any real luck in colouring denim so i thought i would give it another go and i am quite pleased with the result, although i need some more practise.

I love Easter it means chocolate to me and Gracie is coming on Sunday so i took advantage of the special offers and we'll share them together.  I also need to show her the stamps Jaqui sent for her so she may have a new post to share from her blog too.

Hope you like it.

Love You

Hi Everyone

I wasn't sure what to call this card as i didn't want to restrict it to valentines day as i think this could be for a loved ones birthday, or just beacuse or for someone special.  This is my second card from Nigel Mays new CD ROM A-MAY-ZING.    The cd launch will be exclusive to Ideal World at  9pm on 19th April and it is also the launch of the C&C Birthday event, so how exciting is that, i can't wait i will be sitting watching with a coup of tea as i love Nigel.

Ok so a very simple card but i love it.  I've used core-dinations and backing papers from the CD to matt and layer.  The topper is from a card Companion and the heart is from the shaped topper element.  They have both been spray and sparkled with iridescent spray.

Hope you like it.

A-MAY-ZING

Hi Everyone

Well today i have a real new item to share with you as it will not be available until the 19th April on Ideal World or Create and Craft (its one of them but I'm not sure).  Although i am not the first to share these fab new cards made from the CD, the very talented Ali Watson has already posted 2 and they are gorgeous.

The CD is called A-MAY-ZING from guess who, Nigel May of course and this CD is 'All kinds of Everything'.  So it is packed full of items to use for Anniversary's, Birthdays, Baby, Romance, Male, Female etc.  It has backing papers, borders, card companions, sentiments, toppers, decoupage, card shapes and much much more..........

The colours are so beautiful and fresh it was difficult for me to choose which one i wanted to make up first and i have chosen a baby card for my first card.  I really must apologise for the poor photo quality and if i get time to take a photo in proper daylight tomorrow i will change this as the photo does not do the design and finish of the card justice.

I have used a card companion from the cd and backing paper, which is matted onto coredinations card.  The tag and ribbon are from the cd and i have used one of the small round toppers to match with a bunny rabbit on, with my epiphany tool, which just happened to be the exact size of the large circle.  Do you think that was a coincidence?

Hope you like it and watch out for some more cards from the rest of the DT.

Crafters Companion Challenge Blog

Hi Everyone

Its time for another monthly Challenge Blog with Crafters Companion and this is my first time taking part.  The theme for April is four legged friends and i decided to use the fabby new cd's from the Beatrix Potter Range that Crafters Companion brought out in February.

I have made an easel card using Centura pearl card for the base and matted and layered with coredinations and backing paper from the Jeremy Fisher CD. The topper is from the Benjamin Bunny Cd from one of the card companions which also forms part of the decorative base of the card.  I have also embossed the coredinations behind the topper for a little more interest with a darice  Flower Frenzy embossing folder.  To complete as a finish touch some of the Beatrix potter matching ribbon.

I've used a sentiment from the card companion and also added a few die cut leaves to decorate.  Pop over to the Challenge Blog to take part and you will be in with a chance to win a fabby  prize.  Also don't forget to look at the other DT members blogs for inspiration and there will be another blog post mid month with some more ideas for you.

Hope you like it.
